WOOL SALES.

CURISTCHURCH, December 15.

Tho second wool sale of this season commenced yesterday, 12,000 to 13,000 bales being offered, and there was a largo attendance of buyers. The wool was mostly in splendid condition, and a number of station clipß were offered, including several that havfe never before been sold locally. The competition was exceedingly keen throughout, the whole proceedings being much more brisk than at the lnst sale. A Continental buyer present snapped up tho bulk of the merino and a considerable proportion of the best half-bred, while some buyers and representatives of New Zealand mills were also keen competitors for fine wool. During tho forenoon Kawara greasy merino sold up to 15gd, and T. Armstrong's half-bred to Is 3}d; fine crossbred reached lO^d. All fine bright crossbreds nlbi) showed an improvement, but coarse grades wero without change.
