The matron of the Jubilee Home dcsiro to acknowledge, with thanks, n donation of cakes ana scones from the Rev. Mr Poole, of the. Aramoho Wosleyan Church. Wo have received from Mr A. D. Willis, bookßeller and stationer, of Victoria Avenue, a. number of picturesque. Christmas and New Year cards, specially suited for transmission to friends living in other parts of the world, as they contain most artistic views of New Zealand scenery and portraits of typical Maoris, which will proves of much interest to those who Have never scon the beauties of Maoriland and its aboriginal inhabitants. Wo have also to thank Mr Willis foi a copy of Frank T. Bullen's "The Cruibo of the Cachalot," a btimng story of the sea, which is in great and deserved favour with thoso who enioy sea (stories and who have read such masterpieces as -Tom Cringle's Log," Dana s "Two Years Before the Mast, and other old-tyne sea yams written by men thoroughly conversant with the subject.
