The weather is showery, rendering the tracks heavy, consequently little work of importance was done this morning. Flodden finished in front of Cocos and Dowey at the end of a mile run in lmin 50sec. Promontory beat Ballistite over a mile and a quartor in 2miu 20sec. The- Chief and Gaulua wound up a mile in lmin 52 sec and lmjn 55sec respectively. Their stable companion War God was restricted to a steady exorcise gallop over, a mile. Scorn and Revenue wero sent a spin over a mile, being picked up after traversing a furlong by Auric, who brought them home in lmiu 13Jsec. La Carabine put in a useful mile, as did Cremona and Cranberry. Holster and Australian Star spurted a few furlongs. Betting on Caulfiold Cup : 7to 1 Jtfora, 8 to 1 Scorn and Dewey, 10 to 1 Egypt, 16 to 1 La Carabine and Gaulus, 20 to 1 Cocos, Dirk Hammerhand and Kobold. Derby: 2 to 1 Cranberry, 4 to 1 Scorn, 7 to 1 Lancaster and Tremarden.
