PRESENTATION TO EX-PREMIER REID. •Received October 17, 9.30 a.m. SYDNEY, October 17. Parliament was unofficially opened yesterday afternoon. After the Ministerial statement, tho Transvaal contingent was discussed. A big demonstration and presentation of a handsome souvenir took place in the Town Hall in recognition of Mr Reid's political services. Mr Reid condemned Premier Lyne's half-heartedness in sending troops to tho Transvaal, thereby allowing Victoria to snatch tho leadership ot' tho Australian colonies.
