OBITUARY.
Washington, January 10.
Tho death is announced of Mr Dingley, of tariff fame, and promoter of the Dingley Act of 1881 to foster the shipping trade of the United States. Constantinople, January IC. Nubar Pasha is dead.
Nubar Pasha the Egyptian statesman, was born in Smyrna in 1825, and was educated in Switzerland and France. He was seoretary to Mehemet Ali, and to Ibrahim Pasha, and under ißraail was Minister of Public Works in 18G4, and Minister of Foreign Affairs in 1867. He was oreated Pasha by the Sultan, and in 18G7 obtained for Ismail, from the Porte, the title of Khedive. He held various offices under Ismail and his successor Tewfik, but was suddenly dismissed in 1888, and replaced by Riaz Pasha.
