But, as ' soon as thoy were laaded and in posses- - sion of their arms, the men became most - unruly, and pillaged the village of Andjin,, near whioh they were encamped. • More- " over, six soldiers deserted with arms and ' kit. Finally, a company of Malagasy,' rifles had to be employed to overcome and disarm tho mutineers. Two of the , deserters were retaken and shot, and tho . whole company was sent back 'to Diego " Suarez a few days afterwards." j<,'
