At the Government caucus this fore- ' noon 34 members were present and seven .accounted for. The Premier presided and the proceedings were again declared confidential, but the following report has been
supplied by Mr Mills^ the Government -whip: — A general discussion took place on political matters, and members were re
quested to be more punctual in attendance at the House, especially at 2.30 and 7.30, as if all the members who could have .voted on Captain Russell's amendment to the Address-in-Eeply had been present the majority in favor of the Government
Would have been 15. In reply to questions regarding the Police C'ommis&ion , and other reports, Ministers stated that Bills considered necessary would be ixx-
troduced with the reports, so that they ,may be considered simultaneously. The provisions of the Immigration Bill were / explained, and it was stated that the Products Export Bill was to provide for the grading of daiiy produce and meat. , A bare majority for voting for the introduction of rating on
unimproved values would be provided for ; in the Local Government Bill. Other policy measures were explained, and it was announced that no caucus would bo he)d on Monday next unless at' least seven members of the party re _uisitioned t"he Premier to cnll a meeting.
