The Funeral Arrangements.

(By Electric Telegraph— Copyright.) (Per United Press 1 Association.) (Received May 26, at 1.50 i.m.) London, May 25. At Gladstone's funeral the members of the House of Lords and Commons and Privy Councillors will precede the body to Westminster Abbey, the family and

mourners following. Consuls, representatives of the public service, universities, learned societies, mayors, provosts, and chairmen of connty councils have been invited. In deference to the family's wishes no flowers have been permitted, and the funeral will be a very simple one, without any state, pageant or military display. (Received May 26, at 9.50 a.m.) The body of Mr Gladstone is lying in state in his study at Hawarden Castle, attired in evening dress. It is covered with the robes of Dootor of the Civil Law, and an embroidered cloth, a gift to Mr Gladstone from the Armenians, lying over his feet. /Received May 26, at 10.30 a.m.) At a meeting of members of the National Liberal Club, Earl Carrington, in moving a vote of condolence to Mr Gladstone's family, said ,the memory of their chief would ever remain a national possession.
