NOTICE is hereby given that 150 Sections in the above-mentioned Township will be offered at auction at the Puhao-rangi House, Tokaanu, on FRIDAY, 17th June, 1898. The term of the leases is 21 years' with right of renewal for a further term of 21 years. The areas range from 1 rood to about 12 acres, and the upset rentals from £1 to £80 per anivum. This Township is situated near the centre of the North Island, on nearly level land, on the shores of Lake Taupo, at an altitude of about 1200 feet above sea level, and on the main line of communication between Auckland and Welliugton. The northern and eastern portions of tho Township comprise low-lying lands and swamps, partly drainable, with fairly good soil, and in parts suitable for gardening. The south-western portion is on sloping ground with light soil, well adapted for residential sites, and commanding beautiful views of the Lake. The large number of hot springs, with their varied healing qualities, in the 'Township and its neighbourhood, have made the locality famous, and with better facilities for bathing and improved communication the district is likely to beoome the Sanatorium for the southern portion at least of the North Island. It is possible to bring pui c mountain water info tho Township from the high country to tho south. The surrounding scenery, comprising as it does mountain, lake, and waterfall, is full of attractions to the tourist ; and the Alpine climber will find Tokaanu the most convenient point of departure for Ruapehu, Tongariro, Ngaruahoe, Lake Rotoaira, etc. All those, combined with tho advantages of a fine salubrious climate, should render tho sections now under offer attractive and desirable investments, IJlans containing full particulars may be obtained at th~e principal Post Offices in the district, and at this office.
