A MILD SENSATION.
11 The Wearing of the Green."
(Wairarapa Star). Wellington, March 18. A mild sensation was created in the city during the day, owing to what may be termed the vagaries of a parson generally known as " Tho English Millionaire.' 1 Finding that mi allowuuoe, variously stated at from £250 to £500 per month, was not sufficient to keep him m pocket money, he has had.to Bell some of his personal belongings. These include some most expensive articles of clothing and toilet, as well as a Highland costume worth a large sum.* After tho sale to-day the second edition of Benson might have been seen " painting the city green," as he had hired a brougham decorated with a green flag with a golden harp thereon. The horses, and even a pet deg, were covered with tho Irish flag, and on tho " millionaire's" hat was a band of bright green libbon. As I send you this he is careering around tho city — the cynosure of all eyes.
