WAITOTARA COUNTY COUNCIL.

The ordinary monthly meeting of the above was held to-day (Monday). Present — Ors Laird (chair), Robertson, Handley, Perry, Webb, and Tawee.

Minutes — The minntes of last meeting having been read and confirmed, the bank books showed a credit balance of £85 6s 2d.

Correspondence — A letter was received from tho Wanganui Harbor Board proposing a new site for the gravel pit in Lundon Park in exchange for the road line pear the Pilot Station. Referred to Committee appointed at last meeting.— Mr J. Davy wrote requesting permission to erect a hut on Hair's estate and make a garden. Besolved that the Council has no power to grant leases of any part of a public road, but trill grant a lease of 14 uere3 at Kaiirhatu for a nominal rent.

Abattoirs— A letter was read from the Wanganui County requesting the Waitotttra County Council to consider the question of erecting an abattoir for Wanganui. Ors Lsitd and Tawse wore appointed to meet the other delegates as requested. Tenders— lt was decided that tenders be called for next meeting for metalling six chains on Koatanui road and repairing Kaiwhatu road ; alse Brunswick Line and Balmoral Road.

Ranger — Applications W6re invited up till 14lh February for the position of Ranger.

Finance — Resolved that Crs Laird, Robertson, and Ritchie be appointed to sign cheques. Accounts — Accounts amounting to £499 la Id including £148 on the Loan Account wore passed for payment, and the Council adjourned.
