Stock, Wellington, protesting ist the action of the late Bishop of Wellington, by which ha was not allowed a Beat on the Diocesan Synod, and asking relief ; from the chnrch at Taranaki asking to be atfcaohed to the See of Waiapu upon separation from Auckland; from the manager of the Orpheons Home, Parnell (Auckland) asking that the resolution of the 1871 Synod be enforced authorising trustees of native schools property to divide the proceeds of certain trust. Notice -was given to appoint a SelecCommittee in each petition. Bf Bißhop Cowie, of Auckland, was, upon Ke first ballot, elected Primate. The Hsction was well received. The Primate Briefly returned thanks, and said he Tvould try and follow the good example of his predecessors, j A long discussion took place on the of the country clergy, and it was resolved that the position of the same demands serious attention.
