ATTEMPTED STICKING-UP.
(Per United Press Association.) Auckland, February 12. About 1 o'clock on Saturday morning, an attempt was made by two men to stick up Mr J. W. Knight, fruitorer, in Waterloo Quadrant. One of the assailants snatched at his handbag, containing money, jewellery, deeds, etc., to the value of £100. The handle of the (bag broke, but Knight held on and backed, to the wall whore ho kept his assailants off, and his wife's Ecroams caused thorn to run away.
