The annual gathering of the above club takes place on Friany, when a first-olass day s sport may be looked forward to providing the weather is fine. The course is in splendid order, and the stewards haye spared no piins to make the meeting » thorough success. A special train will leave Wanganui at 6 45 a.m., arriving afc Foriou at 11.25 a.m , leaving on the return journey at 5.20 p.m., arriving at Wauganui f, fcll -|P. m - Tho first race "of the day is the Flying Handicap, for which eight hors»a have made their acceptance, Pyramus (Bst 31b), heading the list, & should this horse be any way near well he will have no difficulty in disposing of his opponent. Wanderer (7st4lb), andTuhitarata (Itt), I take to be the next best, and to place them I shall vote for Pyramus _ i Wanderer ' g Tuhitsrata ... ",' '" 3 with Fortune tot a boil over. The Hurdle Handicap has five atill left in, Empire (list), Pyramus (lOst 121 b! Rere <9.t 121 b), Gladstone (9st 61b), and Hiamoe (9st) If Pyramus is kept for this * event, I would not look any further for the winner, but as it ia most likely he will be a starter for the Flying, I shall go for Empire _ Biamoe '" 2 Esr « 1.. "." 3 The Haok Hurdles should be won by Qlenelg, with Haven and Songster to fill the places. The Foxton Raoing Club Handioap has four acceptors, Foxton (Bst 121 b), hatine pride of place, and taking his Rangitikei running, ho should be hard to beat but I fancy he will hare to lower his oolours to Cordelia (7st), who also showed good form at Bangitikei. Lochnagar (ftt ssb)i b ) and Tuhitorata (6»t 101 b), are the other conteatants, but I do not anticipate that they will be very dangerous, so to place them I shall seleot Cordelia j Foxton "' 2 Lochuagar ... *_* " 3 The Handicap Hack Flat, 1 mile"should be won by Strephon, with Sunday School and Eve as his nearest attendants (The acceptances for the Hack Races do not .close until tho day of tho raoes, so, theratore, somg of the horses I select may not Th.) Stewards' Stakes has only three contestants, and Cordelia should have no din>oulty in disposing of her two opponents
