REABONS FOR FORMATION OF THE ASSOCIATION. 1. — The obvious necessity that farmers and all othor producers, residont on the West Coaßt of tho North Island of New Zealand, should bo able to dispose of their wool, frozon meat, grain, dairy produce,flax, fruit, and any other products at greatly reduced rates of commission, and be able to purchase all farm and station requirements at cost price, less actual expenses. 2. -The successful results achieved by 00-Operativfi Aseooiations in othor countries and in other purts of Now Zealand — notablj, by the Farmers' Co-Operativo AsI eociations in Canterbury. i OBJECTS OF ASSOCIATION. Tho Association is established for the purpose of carrying oncho business of a Co-Operative Association in all its branches, including the direct importation and supply of farm and other station requisites, and the Memorandum and tho Articles of Association will enable the Association. — ], — To purchase, lease, exchange, hire, or otherwise acquire and construct any land, buildings, warehouses for the Btorage of wool, grain, and produce of every description, sale yards, railway sidings, machinery, all necessary plant, stock-in-trade merchandise, and all such real and personal property as by the directors for the timo being shall bo deemed necessary or conveniont for carrying on the business of tho Association. 2, — To sell either by publio auction or by private contract, live stock of every description, all farm and station products and requisites, implements, machinery, chattols, and effects of all kinds, upon such torms and conditions as tho directors nmy from time to time appoint. 3, — To afford facilities to the shareholders and constituents of the Associations for, or to undertake for them the shipment of their produce to the various markets of the world, and to appoint agents in Groat Britain, the other colonies, and foreign countries for the furtherance of this object. 4, — To mako advances to the members of the Association or any other person or persons upon real and personal securities, as may from time to time be approved of by tho directors, and to receive money on doposit at interest or otherwise. 5, — To sell, exchange, improve, manage, lease, mortgage, dispose of, or otherwise deal with all or any part of the property of the Association. ADVANTAGES OF THE ASSOCIATION. To secure to tho farmers, graziers, and producers of tho West Coast, by co-opera-tion, thebenefitsof interchange, which havo hitherto gone to the agents or distributors alone. By adopting the principle of co-operation in the formation of the Association, farmers, graziers, flaxmillers, and all other producers who aro shareholdars and constituents, may sell their products and buy what farm and station requisites they severally require in the most favourable markets, and at the same time Bharo in the profits of the Association, which after payment of all expenses, will belong to and bj distributed amongst the shareholders. •< The Association will collect and supplj to shareholders agricultural and othot Btatistictß, prompt, disinterested, and re* liable information as to tho state of and advantages offered by tho various markets throughout the world. Tho Association will seek to ally itself with other kindred institutions, and so, bj 1 sharing tho costs of agency in British and foreign markets, reduco such costs, while increasing correspondingly the advantage! to shareholders.

Tho profits of the Association, after payment to shareholders 01 a dividend not exceeding seven and a half per cent, per annum, and after making provision for writing off so much of the assets of the Association as may be deemed advisablo and providing for a reserve fund, will bo divided amongst the shareholders, according to the amount of business done by each with tho Association, or according to any othor system of division as may from timo to time be approved of by a majority of shareholders at a general nieoting of the Association. The annual report of other Bimilar Associations show that tho satisfactory financial results which may be attained by such enterprises, and induces the balief in tho minds of the promoters that equally satisfactory results may bo achieved in this part of the colony, and" while offering a safe investmfnt for capital, that the West Const Farmer's Co-operative Association may become, not only a source of profit to its shareholders and constituents, but aleo a great and permanent benefit to the farmera, graziers, and producers af the West Coast generally. jQHN STEY£NS> Broker, Bulls NOTICE.
