Welcome Rain in tie South.
(Per United Press Association.) Abhbtjbton, Auguit 20. Rain set in last night and is now (noon) falling heavily with a high wind. It is ex- >- tremely cold, but the rain is very welcome OAMiBTJ, August 20. It has been raining steadily 'inco nine o'clock last night. The condition of the district as to crops and pasturage had previously been looked at with considerable anxiety, as no rain of any moment had -*V fallen for the past three months, and the present rainfall is the heaviest experienced during that time. The pasturage and crops will reoeire an immense amount of benefit. The area in crop is very large this season DDN2DIH, August 21. The rain ceased for some time this evening, and it has come on to blow from the south-west, with occasional showers.
