O'Loghlen proposed the exclusion oE New Zealand, whioh was negatived by 88 to 84. An amendment providing for the abolition of plural voting was carried, and one extending the franchise to women was negatived. Hobabt, August 21. The investigation of the affairs of the Bank of Van Dieman's Land has been comleted, but the result will not bomado officially known until the meeting of shareholders in a few days. It is understood that the enquiry shows rockleas management in the Hobart Branoh, and that of the reported assets pnbably a quarter of a million must be regarded as doubtful debts. When everything is settled, it is probable the available assets will not exceed seventyfive thousand. This will necessitate a call of £1 per stare. The Union Bank also has deolinpd to take over the business of the Bank. Adelaide, August 21.
