NEW ZEALAND STUDENTS AT HOME.
The prize list for tbe winter session, 1890-91, at the Edinburgh School of Medicine contains the names of several New Zeakndevs in conspicuous positions, viz. :— Practical Chemistry— O. Fulton, 100 per cent , Ist ; C. S. Cantrell, 70 per cent., 4th. Practical Anatomy — G. Home, first prize, gold medal, 95 par cent., Ist ; A. G. Talbot, i third prize, 90 per cent., 3rd. Firat Year— A. Hosking, medallist, 06 per cent , Ist. General Pathology— W. C, Hamilton, 86 per cent., 2nd. Practice of Physic —W. Fitzgerald, medallist, 85 per cent., 2nd, Systematic Anatomy— E. W. T. Watera, medallist, 85 per cent. Sjetematic Surgery— W. Fitzgorald, firsthonors. Midwifery, etc.— T. W. Williams, 91 per cent., 4th. Besides the3o New Zealand names, thero are several Aurtralians wall up in the list. G. Home's name is at the head of a list of ninety-three students, hailing from England, Scotland, India, West Indies, Barbadoes, Africa, Cihoia, Egypt, Australia, and New Zealand. The competition may, therefore, be said to be world-wide. The lists altogether occupy three closely printed columns of the Scotsman.
Mr Home and MrHosking were educated at the Collegiate School in this town. The former is a nephew of Mr James Livingstone of Manaia, the lattor a eon of Dr Hoskinff of Masterton, and their success speaks volumes for the good training they received at the Wanganui Collegiate School,
