SUDDEN DEATH.
Mr James Mayes Drops Dead.
Information wbb received in town to-day of tbe very sudden demise of Mr James Mayes, platelayer, of Aramoho, who dropped dead this morning at tho Kai Iwi Railway Station. It appears that he wont there to receive his pay, and was sitting on a seat, when he became suddenly sick, the perspiration standing out in large drops on his forehead. Ho stood up, but almost immediately fell down, and expired. He bad been ailing for some time from heart disease, and was very unwell yesterday. Deceased had been for many years in the service of the Government and was employed on the railways. Ho was a thoroughly hardworking and industrious man and enjoyed tho respect of his fellow workmen owing to tho many excellent qualities Vie posßßSßed. A widow and a large family of young children are left to mown their lobs, and much sympathy is oxpressed for them in their sad and sudden bereavement An inquest will bo held at Kai Iwi at 3 p.m. today, before Mr Brabant, R.M.
