A correspondent sends us the following:— lf Jim Criohton (opposite Smilej'e Stables) sell* 30 silver-mounted Pints at 3 for £1, he would receive £10; also a superior 80 at 2 for £1, he would receive £15 ; in all, £25. Now, if he were to tell these pipes in one lot of 60 at 5 for £2, whioh would be at the same rate, viz , 8 for £1 and 2 for £1, he would only receive £24. How does he lose £1 by selling them at 6 for £2.-Adv.
