Tho crow took to the boats and reached Hong Kong in safoty. A strange and unknown disease has appeared at Minra, Japan. The mortality excludes that of cholera, and is even a more terrible death which in most instances ensues after 24 hours intense suffering. Out of sixty-five cases reported, forty deaths are recorded. The age of tho majority of persons attacked ranged from two years to twenty years. The epidemic has visited six villages. The construction of the railway from Canton to Kowloon, which is declared to bo tho greatest railway Bcheine evor Btarted, will shortly be proceeded with. An accident occurred on the Tienstin Taku Railway, in which one European and ten Chinamen were killed.
