The New President,

By the last American mail we learn that the Rochester, N.Y., Chamber of Commerce has elected the Hon. H. H. Warner as its president. Mr Wnrner addressed the meeting on tho " Functions of tho Chambor of Commerce." The address has been printed in full in the lending newspapers of Rochester and neighbouring cities ; long editorials pronounco it one of the most able speeches ever delivered in New York State. The meeting was held in the Warner Building, which is devoted to the manufacture of Warner's Safe Remedies. Mr Warner gave a banquet to the Chamber of Commerce and a few friends, who aro among the leading men of America. Notes of regret and beat wishes were received from Mr Grover Clereand, President of the United States.
