London, April 26. — A superb collection of pictures has bcon obtained for exhibition at tho Melbourne Exhibition, and it is said to lie the finest collection of English urt c^el• despatched abroad. It includes pictures by Turner, Landsoer, Eoborts, Stansiiiffii, jfook, James, Ilalsowoll, Lnwson, Coll, Afnluris, Jlunt, Frith, Eovero, Linnol, Hardy, Lcigliton, Tud/jnja, Graham, Leslio, and JJroughton. There will bo some now works specially painted by Mapwhirtejr, Petne, Marks, Hall, and Agnew. Tho yic/u/'p " Shadow of Dentil " has been lent toy tlio Exhibition, and tho Duko of Westminster will forward a couplo of paintings by Turner. Tlio difficulty of resisting the cxliorbitant demands of tho shippers anil [lHliranco Companies sonion hat imperilled the collection, but that has now liopn overcome Tho Prince of Wales will inspect tlio collection bpforo its being shipped.
