Silver Wedding of the Prince and Princess of Wales.
The Prince and Princess of Wales will receive many presents on the day of their silver wedding. Not the least notable of these will be a snberb cup from the officers of tho Boyal yacht Osborne, to be added to' the plate of that magnificent vessel. Already the service of silver and gold on the yacht is worth upwards of £10,000. The Freemasons are to give the Princess a diamond butterfly of the value of £600. Anything like a public subscription for a silver wedding present has been discountenanced all round, but their Boyal Highnesses will be overwhelmed with gifts, nevertheless. The Prince and Princess of Wales will hold a reception at Marlborough Home. It is stated to be the intention of her Royal Highness to wear & facsimile of the dresg in which she was married 25 years ago. At that time, very wide skirts and elaborate flounces were in fashion, so that the Frinceu will present a charmingly old-fashioned appearance. — London Correspondent.
