1 January 8. Tho total number of claims received by the Land Claims Commission, was 1630, but the proportion roported on favourably, will not be largo, Mr Ballanco leaves for Auckland and the Rotorua diatriots on Tuesday. Ho intends to address his constituents before Parliament meets, but not at a very early date. Applioation for a writ of habuti corpus in the Waters' case, will bo made m Chambers this afternoon.
