DUNEDIN MARKETS.
Fat Cattlo.— Ono hundred and fifty eight head offered to-day "Wednesday 24, a fair proportion being from good to prime quality ; the balance medium to fair. This number included a draft of 38 head primo quality bullocks (ex Hawea) from the Oroua Downs estate, Boston. Convpetition was scarcely co brisk to-day, and prices all round show a slight declino on Into values. Best bullocks brought £8 15s to £11 ; light nnd medium, £5 to £8; cows, £3 15s to £10,— Wright Stephenson, and Co., sold 90 head as follows: On necount of Mr Alox. Thomson, ox s.h. Havrea, from Oimia Downs, 38 primo bullocks, at from £9 to £10 15s— averaging within a fraction of £10 per head. Fat Sheep. — 1910 woro penned and nearly all Bhom. About 500 of these were morinos (average quality), Uio balance were evossbreds, ranging from medium and inferior to prime. Thero was a fair demand experienced for best quality pens, but other sorts woro neglected, and taking tVio maitkot aU round prices wore about Is a head lower than last week. Best erossbreds (in wool) brought 12s to 17s ; otliers, 9s 3d to lls 6il; do (shorn) 5s to 12a. Merinos (in wool) 9s 6d to lls 9d s do (shorn) 4s Gd to 7s 3d. Donald Reid and Co., for Messrs Hnttan ami Hutton (Hainpden), 32 crossbred ewes at 5s 3d. Wright, StepnDDSon and Co., sold on account of Messrs Campbell and Sons, (Otekaike), 140 merino wethers (in wool) at from 9a 6d to 10s ; on account of Messrs 3. and S. Wilson (Papukaio), 80 crossbred ewes at 5s 9d. Fat Lambs. — The markets as overstocked to-day. 743 being penned. Competition was dull, and prices realised wero not on a level witli those current last week. All, however, sold at prices ranging from 4s to 10s 9d. Donald Reid and Co. .sold for Messrs Hutton and Hutton, 20 at 7s and 48 at 4s ; for Mr 3. M'Kerrow, 7 at Bs. Pigs. — Only 78 penned, and sold at up to 28s for small porkers and 10s 6d for suekeis. Store Cattle. — Thero are buyers now for all descriptions of tliis elas3 of stock. Any lots offering are readily placed at prices which compare favourobly witli fat stock rates. Storo Sheep. — No business is being done nt present, nor can we report any inqury.
