[TZR UNITED PEBS3 ASSOCIATION.) Timabu, December 1. ' The Cain murder case wag resumed this * morning. Mrs Ostler hiving been reexamined in regard to the letter produced yesterday.— W. A. Meason, clerk, gave evidence to having frequently visited Cain * during his last Illness in the evenings, and had often seen him vomit. First at the end 6f;November, or the beginning of December. Cain attributed his sickness to the grog, and professed hia inability to understand it, Witness repeated the evidence - given at the inquest. George Kay, who nursed Cain, gave itmilar evidence to that given at the inquest. The only material addition was that witness, on one oooulon, had a severe attack of sickness, but he could not attribute it to any particular ciute. A good deal of time this morning was occu-

pied in arguing a law point as to the admissibility of Mason's ovidenoe with regard to Cain's symptoms, and the pro■■•gMia of the ca«e was Blow. Ksy was or'ofls-exarainsd, but nothing fresh was

elicited. Jsckion, blicksmith, who made the invalid a bed, deposed to having been alok after partaking of ohampagne at Cain's houao, and the Court then adjourned for lunoh.

On resuming, F. W; Stulb3 gave evidenoe similar to that given at the inquest as to having visited Captain Cain on the evening the invalid ohair had came, when Hall was there, and be said to witness that Captain Cain was worse, and oould not live though the nights. Saw Captain Cain vomit but only after taking spirits. W«s at the house the night before Captain Cain died, but did not see Hall there.
