WEIGHT OF FLEECES.
The following letterß will be interesting to our grazier readers and otheis who tate an interest in tho growth of wool and the improvement of sheep on this cosst :— Manutahi, November 29, 1886, Sir,— ln reply to Mr John Morgan and others re weights oE first prize ewe hoggeta exhibited by me at the last Pataa A» and P Association's Show, the following are the weights of fleeoes ;— First priza long wool ewe hoggets, average HJlbs; first priza ram hogget, 22Jlbs. I sold to J. MoLennan, Esq , of Oroua Downs, six ewe hoggets inoludine the five that competed for the cup at Pates. He promised to forward the weights of their wool. I eno'ose his letter. You will notice that the average weight for the six is 211bs, and for the ewea with lambs 151bs 3os The ewes had only aboai eleven months' wool, The. ewe hoeoets were taken from tl\a stud flock last Feb. ruary, and fed entirely upon Ri-aaa. They were kept by a neighbour, Mr J. Maxwell, and were never in a yard, or handled in any way until a fortnight before the Potea Show,
