THE CAIN POISONING CASE.

The Cain poisoning case was resumed this morning when Messrs Milton, Cameron, and Woolcombe gave evidence as to the forgery of their names on certain documents, »od alto to having invested moneys with Hall and Meaton. Bridget Wren, a servant to the late Captain Cain, repeated in subatanoa the evidence given by her at the inquest as to the frequency of Hall's vUlts to the house and to the captain vomiting during his last illness. She said that Captain Cain used to be sick only after lunch ; never after breakfast, When cross-examined by Mr Perry, witness slid that during Captain Ciins first illness, eighteen months before he died, he was only confined to bis bed a few days. _ Whiskey was kept in the sick room in a liquor stand, and anybody wanting it would gat it there. Captkin Ciin's hand was very much swollen during his last illness. Witness could not say if Hall always saw Captain Cain when he called, but he might have done so without witness knowing. Denis Wren gave corrobative evidence as at the inqaest. After lunch, Wren was cross-examined at some length by Mr Ferry. His evidence was not shaken. He was asked as to whether other people besides Cain had whiskey out of the decanter in the eickroora, He said he had never seen anybody do so. The whiskey he had himself when nursing at night wis given witness in * special bottle. On the night before Cain died he seemed oheerful, and spoke in a strong voice. When other people besides Hall came to see Capt Cain, witness left the room. In cross-extmination witness said that when people came to see Cain on business he left the room at the captain's rei quest. Cain never told him to go when Hall was there. . \
