COLONISTS AT HOME. London, Augusb 17.—A large party of Colonial and Indian visitors have been on a visit to Dublin, whore they wero entertained at lunoh by the Lord Mayor. SIR R. A. CROSS'S TITLE. August 18—The title assumed by Sir R. A. Cross, Secretary of Stute for India, on hia elevation to the Peerage is Baron Cross, instead of Viscount Warrington as previously intimated. THE AFGHAN FRONTIER QUESTION. It ia officially announced that Government has not decided upon the immodiate withdrawal of the frontier Commission; that negotiations will continue with the Rusßian Government, and is intended that the Commission should return to India in the Autumn. IRISH NATIONAL CONVENTION. Ciiicago, August 17—The National Convention meets to-morrow. It is stated that discord has arisen between the Parnellites and the dynamite party.
