April 20. The Marlborough contingent for the Wanganui Easter encampment consists of Major Baillie in command, 9 officers, 75 volunteers, and 40 cadets. Mr Conolly, M.H.R., addressed the elector Bof Pioton. last night. He opposed the Ministry and its policy, and follows Major Atkinson. Mr Conolly received a vote of thanks, an amendment favouring a vote of thanks and confidence was rejected by a large majority. His apathy on local affairs was greatly condemned at the meeting.
