Sydney, April 20 — Another death has occurred from the explosion of fire damp at the Lithgow Colliery. The remaining four men are progressing favourably towards recovery. All six men killed are married men, and a I distressing scene ensued at the pit's mouth when the news of the acoident became known. There waa no lack of volunteers to searoh for their comrades, and their efforts to rescue them were of a most heroic nature. April 21 — It has been ascertained that the catastrophe at the Lithgow Colliery was not due to fire damp, as at first supposed, but an immense fall in the working of the pit. THE EASTER RECESS.
