RETAIL DRAPERY AT WHOLESALE PRICES FOR READY MONEY ONLY | ' AT NICHOLLS & CO.'S CASH DRAPERY WAREHOUSE, WANGANUI. Wb hereby announce that on Friday next' (April 9th) we shall inaugurate the above-mentioned system of busineßS in Wanganui, Feeling that such an important change in our business arrangements demands more than a mere notification of the fact, especially to our many Customers, we would earnestly invite attention to the following details of the READY MONEY SYSTEM as now adopted by us. Starting with the recognised fact that READY MONEY is the true basis of all stircesfal md legitimate t-nding, ivt shall entitely suspend all credit transactions. Whilst sincerely thanking those of our Customers who havo hitherto had monthly accounts with us, we trust they will aocord us still increated patronage under the NEW SYSTEM* Some months since, we made arrangements with a thoroughly experienced agent for importing our goods DIRECT from the best English and Continental houses (in most instances from the direct manufacturers). The first of these Shipments, consisting of the lateßt novelties, has just come to hand.and been marked in PLAIN FIGURE Sat a minimum of profit on the exact landed cost. The remainder of our stock has been equally reduced, and Customers are requested to compare our PRESENT PRICES with those formerly charged for the same articles We confidently assert that in every instance they will COMPARE FAVOURABLY with the COLONIAL WHOLESALE RATES and be found quite zsper cent cheaper than any RETAIL house on the Coast, As the success of our undertaking depends almost entirely on our carrying out the READY MONEY PRINCIPLE in its ll£ TEGRITY, we wish it to be distinctly understood that In no single instance can credit be given. Every article must be paid for AT TIME of PURCHASE, and we trust to the good sense of our Customers to spare us the unpleasantness of refusing to depart from this rule. No discount or abatement off the plainly marked prioes can possibly be allowed (either to the trade or the publio). No SPECIAL SALES will in fnture be held, it being our determination to daily offer the whole of our stock at much less than SPASMODIC SALE PRICES. The question will doubtless be put to us :— " Can you make this system pay ?" In reply, we would remind you that several of the largest Australian houses are now conducted on the READY MONEY basis, and that the same system has been recently introduced into New Zealand by a well-known Wellington firm with marked success, Ab one of the firat principles of domestic economy is to buy in ! the cheapest market, we trust to an enormously increased business to recoup us for the GREAT REDUCTION in our prices. To the country settlers we particularly look for encouragement, and hope they will send to us for PATTERNS of anything and everything they require and COMPARE PKICES. We are certain they will be greatly surprised and gratified at the result. Calling attention to the details of our FIRST AUTUMN and WINTER SHOW, which appear in another column, we now place our future business prospects in the handß of the purchasing public, and cordially invite them to co-operate with us, by buying all their RETAIL DRAPERY AT WHOLESALE PRICES FOR READY MONEY ONLY AT NICHOLLS & CO.'S CASH DRAPERY WAREHOUSE, WANGANUI.
