In addition to these the Government will supply 100 bell tents, 3 marquees, and 50 square 10 by 12 tente ' Some' of the Government tents have now arrived, and have oesn erected on the ground. According to the Woodville Examiner the local corps expeot to send about 25 men* They have appointed their Captain and Corporal Campbell a committee for making arrangements r« transport to Palmerston, . 24 members of the Napier Artillery have signified their intention of coming to the En* campment and it is likely that three more will join, making the number 27. Respecting the Mariborougb tnen we are pleased tp- find from, the Express that the Blenheim Rifles have juat obtained new uni« forms, which drew forth encomiums of praise from Major- Bailee at last parade,* when he said that he hoped they would muster strong for the Wanganui Encampment* Forty-one of tho3e present signified their intention to go, and it has 'since transpired that this number -will be increased to fifty. If twenty Spring Creek. men, and, as is expected, nearly forty Cadets attend, Marlbofough will be well represented. The cost per man for the passage will be 81, besides Is 3d per diem for messing, or 13s in all. The allowances are 2s 6d a day for four daycr, and a bonus of 4s per head, or 14s, so that little or no expense should fall on the individuals. - We have obtained a promise that there willbeapress tenton theground, and we fully expect several press representatives here on a holiday. The question has been raised as to whether the men will be landed at the town or, the Heads wharf. Thiß will no doubt rest solely with the steamer authorities but the general impression seems to be that the publio would be better pleased if the town wharf were used, • _• A football match between the Napier and Wanganui Garrisons is talked of for Saturday, the challenge coming from Napier.
