The Agricultural and Pastoral Society's show, which concluded to-day, was on the whole very successful. It was very largely attended. The show of implements and thoroughbreds was poor, and the produce indifferent. Ihe champion cup for thoroughbreds was taken by Piscxtorious. In Clydesdales, cattle and sheep, the show v/as grand. Rolin Adair took the champion prize for draught •■tallions. In cattle the Hon. H. R. Russell, the Rev S. Williams, and Mr Reid, of Oamaiu, are the chief prize-takers. Honours in merinos were chiefly divided between Messrs Koyse and nderbon and Douglas McLean in every instance but one. The locally bred merinos beat the imported sheep shown againbt them. In lon^ wools Mr I\ Turner took the bulk of the prizes wiih locally bred sheep, Mr J. N. Williams being, however, most successful in grass fed classes. Mr Reid, of Oamaru, took several prizes for Lincolns aud Romnfy Marsh, and the Waikato Land .s oci.ttion for tthropshires.
