Melbourne, October 10.—The first day's racing of the Victorian Turf Club's Caulfield Cup meeting to"ok place to-day. The weather was miserably wet, and there was only a moderate attendance of the public, His Excellency, Sir Henry Loch, was present during the afternoon. Caplfield GtriNßASj distance one mile. Ringmaster ... .„ 1 Dunlop 2 Eagle Grange. 3 Eight horses started for this event. Ringmaster held a good position throughout and landed an easy winner. Monte Chriato was fourth. Time, lmin 49sec.
