Handicap Hurdle Race, of 100 soys ; distance, 2£ miles ; over 9 jumps, 3ft 9in high ; nomination, 2 soys ; acceptance, 3 soys; weights to be declared at 8 p.m. on the Bth of March ; acceptances at 10 a.m. on the day of the race. Wanganui Stakes Handicap, of 200 soys ; second horse to receive 30 soys out of the stakea ; third horse to save his stakes ; for three-year-olds and upwards ; distance, 2 miles ; nomination, 2 soys; acceptance, 5 boys. To start at 2 o'clock. Nubsery Handicap, of 50 soys ; for two-year-olds ; distance, f mile ; nomination, I soy ; acceptance, 2 soya. To start at 3 o'clock. District Race Handicap, of 150 soya ; second horse to receive 30 soys from the stakes ; third horse to save his stakes ; distance, 2 miles; nomination, 2 soys; acceptance, 3 soys ; open to all horses owned for six months prior to time of entry by bona fide residents who have been living between the Manawatu aud Waingongora Rivers for that time. To start at 4 o'clock. Consolation Stakes Handicap, of 40 soys; for all beaten horses ; 1 mile and a distance ; nomination, 1 soy ; acceptance, 1 soy. To start at 5 o'clock. RULES AND REGULATIONS. No entry will be received for any races except upon this condition — that all disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the racng sha'l be decided by a majority of the Stewards present, or those whom they may appoint. Thoir decision upon all points connected with the carrying out of this programme shall be final. All entries to be sealed and addressed to the Hon. Secretary, Wanganui ; entrance money enclosed with name, age at the time of entry, pedigree, and, in the case of handicaps, performances of the horse, name of .the owner, and colours of the rider. Any jockey riding except in the colours entered, will be fined 3 soys. When two or more horses start, the property of the same owner, a distinguishing colour must be worn. All persons intending to withdraw horses, are required to give notice to that effect to the Secretary or Clerk of the Scales one half hour before starting. Any person neglecting or refusing to comply with this rule shall pay a fine of 5 soys to the race fund. All entries should be made on the Club's printed forms of entry, which may be obtained at the office of the Hon Secretary. All races to be run under the W.J.C. Rules. Horses walking over will only receive half the stakes. Second horse to save its stakes in all races except where otherwise specified. No entries or nominations will be received under any pretence whatever after the time specified for closing. Letters bearing the Postmark of the date of entry, and telegrams of the same date, will be received, DATES OF NOMINATIONS, ACCEPTANCES, &c, AND AMOUNTS TO BE FORWARDED. All Nominations, Ent'ies, and Acceptances close at the Pier Hotel, as under :—: — Tuesday, December 4th, 1883, at 9 p.m.— Nominations : Wanganui Cup (2 eovb), Fljine; Handicap (2 soys), Wanganui Stakes (2 soys), Wanganui District (2 soys). Friday, January 11th, 1884, at 9 p.m. — Weights : To be declared for the Cup, District, and Flying Handicaps; Saturday, 9th February, 1884, at 9 p.m. — Acceptances : Wanganui Cup (7 soys), Flying Handicap (3 soys), District Race (3 soys.) Thursday, February 28th, 1884, at 9 p.m. — Acceptances : Wanganui Derby (3 soys). Entrances : Hurdle Race (4 soys), Sapling Stakes (3 boys), Maiden Plate (3 soys.)
