WAIRARAPA AGRICULTURAL SHOW.
. 4. (per united press association.) Carterton, Nov 1. The Wairarapa Agricultural and Pastoral Show is being held here to-day. Heavy raic fell early in the morning, but the weather has now cleared up. Large numbers of people are pom ing into town fiom the surrounding country. The show is considered equal to that of last year, which wae the best ever held in the district. There are 531 exhibits: Horses, 84; cattle, 89; sheep, 232 ; pigs, 5 ; poultry, 15 ; dogs, 14 ; agricultural implements, 15 ; butter, 19 ; buggiee, 14; cheese, 3; bacon, 9 ; leather, 1 ; wool, 1 ; preserved meat, 2 ; hops, 1 ; t >bacco and woo len gojds, 2. There are 10 entries for the shearing match.
There was no busin* ss at the Police Court this morning. The New Zealand Herald of Saturday says : — Mr P. Lundon, so long and favorably known as teller of the Bank of New South Wales here, was entertained on Thursday evening by a number of his friends prior to bis departure for Sydney, at which place he has accepted a very lucrative employment.
