In the Appeal Court to-day the case of keynolds v Napier was concludedjudgment being reserved. To-morrow another Dunedin case, Connor v Mackay, will be taken. The girl Annie Freebody was, surrendered to His Honor, Mr Justice Richmond, in Chambers this morning, by; virtue of a writ of 7iabeas corpus, and afterwards delivered over to the custody of her sister. A cargo of frozen meat for the ship Lady Jocelyn, which is to load here in February, is already secured. The erection of a lighthouse at Wai pa pa Point, Otago, will shortly be proceeded with. Waipapa Point is the spot where the steamer Tararua was wrecked . Nov 22. Andrew Young and George Fisher were nominated to-day for the Mayoralty. The election takes place on the 29 th. Tasman has been scratched for the Wellington Cup.
