WEATHER FORECAST FOR 24 HOURS.

FROM 9 A.M. TO-DAY.

Wind— Between N.W. and S.W. at all places north of Napier and New Plymouth, *" and between N.E. and N.W. at all other places. Barometer— Fall at all stations. Sea — Increase on western coast southward of New Plymouth, and between Castlepoint and Lytteltonon eastern coast. Warnings for northerly gales have been sent to all places 'south of Napier and New Plymouth. Synopsis of last 24 hours— Southward of Ly ttelton and Hokitika the Barometer rose nearly two-tenths in the afternoon, but fell again nearly as much during tbe night. Everywhere else it has risen slowly. The weather has been generally fine, and the sea has increased on the western coast. There was a bright aurora visible at intervals between 10 p.m. and daylight nearly everywhere south ot Napier and New Plymouth. — R. A. Edwin.
