In consequence of the necessity for reinforcements of cavalry in Transvaal, the 6th Dragoons have been ordered to Natal. Dec 28.
Latest reports to hand from the Cape prove that the previous accounts of the disaster to the 94th Regiment in Transvaal has been greatly overstated. It is now known that the total casualties were only 30, and that the remainder of the men were disarmed and afterwards released.
Parnell has been elected Chairman of the Home Rulers in Ireland.
Further diplomatic correspondence published shows that Greece insists on the frontier line laid down by the Berlin Conference.
