Bombay, Sept 14. The Mutineers of Cabul acted, and are still without, a leader. They are en* deavouring to unite the tribes to attack Roberts' flank at Stuturgerdun, which was reoccupied on receipt of news of the massacre: N"o hostile movement has as yet taken place. A letter from the Ameer to the Viceroy, written subsequent to the massacre, declared sincere friendship. There being conflicting accounts as to his sincerity and attitude, the Imperial Government were somewhat distrustful of the sincerity of his protestations. General Roberts received instructions to ask him for proof of his friendship in a practical manner. The frontier is perfectly quiet ; no hostile signs. Perfect tranquility at Candabur.

General Massie awaits reinforcements before advancing beyond Shular G-artere. General Roberts telegraphs to the Viceroy that the situation is most alarming and calling for ' reinforcements. Without double the number in the field is is impossible to make a dash on Cabul.
