A man named Anderson met with a severe •ccident laßt night. For some time past a number of tramps have been in the habit of sleeping in empty wagons in St Hill-street, and the residents in the neighbourhood having complained to the police, the latter were instructed to put a stop to the nuisance. About two o'clock this morning the poiice proceeped to the wagons to order the men away, but on their approach being discovered the men jumped out nelter skelter. Anderson fell and broke his leg. As soon as the accident was noticed, the man was cared for at the station as well as possible until arrangements could' be made to take him to the Hospital. Anderson was supposed to be drank at the time of the accident.
