SPECIAL TO HEBALD:
7 Auckland, Sept 11. John Fitzgerald was charged with stealing jewellery from Wm. Kennall, also £6 from Wm. Pratt in July. The robbery occurred at the Governor Browne Hotel, and was never traced. On searching the prisoner now on the charge of stealing money, the police found a clue to the jewel affair. Case remanded.
New Plymouth, Sept 11. The railway carriage wheels, rails, &c, run from the iron sand yesterday, on the moulds being opened thia morning proved a great success, not a flaw being found to be in either of them.
