Bombay, Sept 9. The defence of the British Residency at Oabul wasjstubborn, and attended with great loss to the attacking party of Oabulese. An unsuccessful attempt was made by the Cabulese to storm the building, and they finally fired the doorway and swarmed in, and killed the defenders. The Governor of Candahar has expressed his devotion to the British; Military preparations are being rapidly pushed forward. THE MASSACRE OF THE BRITISH IN AFGHANISTAN.
