AGRICULTURAL AND PASTORAL ASSOCIATION.
A committee meeting of theAgricultura and Pastoral Association was held tbi" morning at the office of the Secretary, M Crawford. The chair was taken by th^ President, Mr Pharazyn, and there wer G present, Messrs Owen, Duthie, Robertson' Baker, Heslop, Dr Earle, Craig, and Mr Fraser of Rangitikei.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read aud confirmed. Inward correspondence was then read. Mr Rußsell offered a silver cup as a dog prize, which was accepted with thanks. Mr S. Harrison asked the date of awarding a certain prize, letter referred to Secretary for reply.
The Christchurch Agricultural Society wrote, enclosing plans of show yards and other information, and asking in return reports of the Wanganui Shows for insertion in the Town and Country Journal.
The Secretary was instructed to acknowledge receipt, and to promise the report.
Revision op Rules. — Mr Owen moved — That the number of the Committee be extended from 10 to 15 members, so as to admit representatives from Rangitikei, which by dissolving itself was now practically amalgamated with the Wanganui Society. The motion was seconded by Mr Baker, and carried.— Five namea were then suggested to act for Kangitikei, which would be decided upon at the general meeting this afternoon.
Finance. — Mr Duthieread a statement showing a total indebtedness of about £300, which included the Society's liability for 40 silver medals. It appeared also that there are still 70 new medals to provide. — From the conversation which ensued we gathered that steps' will be taken in future to ensure more prompt delivery of medals.
The meeting then adjourned till two o'clock.
