Williams — That this Synod desires to Record its thanks ,to the lady collectors for their 1 active exertions' in obtaining Jsubscriptiona and donations to the Diocesan Fund. The Synod then went into Committee on the Standing Orders, that with no material amendments were adopted. ' Moved by Mr Didsbury, seconded by ■ Mr Powles— That the'Svnod go into Com- • mittee to consider the report on on the Church Chronicle. ( Carried. ) Synod in Committbk— The resolution of the report to recom- ; ,poend an allocation, of a certain number of 'copies to each parish or parochial'district ' was agreed to. j Chairman reported progress. j Synod in Session— I Moved by Mr Didsbury, seconded by Mr Powles — That the resolution of the 1 Committee be adopted." That this Synod recommends theSfcanding Committee to rake steps to in% vite contributions to an Endowment Fund for the maintenance of the Maori clergy-, men now working in this Diocese, and to enable' their number to be increased. That this Syncl deshes to thank the Rev. S. Williams for his^dffer !pf £500 toward such Endowment Fund, and that the Standing Oomniittee be requested to urge upon the Maoris the necessity of contributing to the Fund."— Carried,
