The steamers Clyde and Tongariro, from Patea, arrived in port to-day. The following is tho number and tonnage of vessels that have entered and cleared from this port for the mouth ending to-day :—Entered, 39 ; tons, 2429. Cleared, 38 ; tons, 2408. For the corresponding month of last year : — Entered, d 5 ; tons, 3212. Cleared, 48 ; tons, 3561. Concerning the ship Great Queensland, •which sailed from London for Melbourne on Aug. 6th last, and which has not been heard of since, the following extract from a private letter received by an Adelaide Insurance Company has been kindly handed to ua (the S. A. Eegister) :—": — " Theie was picked up at Fowoy (Cornwall), about 1£ mile east of the harbor, a ship's lifebuoy, with Great Queensland, of London, painted on it. Apparently it has been some timo in the water. There were also great portions of wieckage in the offing, such as pieces of deck plank, deals, and staves, the whole of which has been a great while in the water, aud it \a covered with barnacles varying from three .to nine inches in length." The Great Queaualand was spoken in latitude 48 north, longitude 9 west, on August 12, but nothing has been heard of her from that time.
