VOLUNTEER INTELLIGENCE.
The second division of tho Wanganui Rifles fired for district prizes this (Friday) morning. The pnzc takers are Privates S. Hooperj J. Bates, H. Bush, and J. Conncll. Sub- Lieut. Ward made the third highest suore, but ho having' won a Government prize since 1874 was disqualified. Private Eapley fired only two shots at the second range, and Bandsman Gordon one. The ranges were 400, 500, and 1500 yards ; seven shofs at each range. The following is a copy of the return :—: —
