WANGANUI LIBRARY INSTITUTE.
A meeting of the Library committee was held in the Institute on Monday evening 13th inst., when it was resolved that the Librarian be instructed to convey to Capt. Stevens, Staff Secretary to Colonial firing squads, the thanks of the Wanganui Library commitlee for the handsome donation received from the Staff and Representatives in aid of the Library and Free Reading Room of the Institute.
Resolved that from the first of May, country subscribers be allowed three weeks for the retention of two volumes instead of a fortnight as heretofore. Town members a fortnight as formerly, flfter the above date fines to be imposed on both town and country members at the rate of -|d per volume per day if kept after tho prescribed time.
Resolved that a number of new books be added to the Library monthly, thus keeping up a cortinuous supply of new works.
Mr A Beauchamp and Mr John Thomson were duly elected members of the Library Committee which at present consists of the following gentlemen : — Messrs Jno. Ballance, C. H. Borlase, J. W. Robinson, E. Bezar, W. H. Gougher, J. Ward, T. Parrah, A. Beauchamp, and J. Thomson. It was finally resolved that the Library committee meetings be held on the first Wednesday in every month.
